If you go to this webiste and read the explanation of what a "derivative" means, you will see why all the wall street gurus are literally sweating on television.

One guy was so disheveled this morning on CNBC that his hair wasn't combed and his suit looked like he slept in a dumpster.A key quick statement that he made was that that his company was ""de leveraging as quickly as possible"

It's real complicated and it certainly is the reason that all that (our) money is spiraling down the toilet. These wall street guys and the reporters are all whistling past the graveyard. I literally laugh, (as I hold my nose) at the spin they try to put on all the bad news.

The question that no one is asking is this. Are the banks and investment houses still dealing in derivatives and hedge funds?I suspect that the answer is yes. And, if the answer is yes, hold on to your wallets and get ready for a bumpy ride. The roller coaster hasn't stopped yet.

HOW'S THIS FOR A NO SPIN?

I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT FOX NEWS USES GUYS LIKE ROVE, MARK FUHRMAN AND THE LIKE.

ROVE HAS BEEN ON THE SHADY SIDE OF POLITICS SINCE MY 36 YEAR OLD SON WAS BORN ON ELECTION DAY WHEN NIXON STOLE THE ELECTION THROUGH DIRTY TRICKS
I'M AND INDEPENDANT (once a new Hampshire Republican) I'm flying to Ecuador to look for property..I've had enough of the "dirty tricks" from both sides of the aisle.

In 1970, Karl Rove used a false identity to enter the campaign office of Democrat Alan J. Dixon, who was running for Illinois State Treasurer, and stole 1000 sheets of paper with campaign letterhead. Rove then printed fake campaign rally fliers promising "free beer, free food, girls and a good time for nothing," and distributed them at rock concerts and homeless shelters, with the effect of disrupting Dixon's rally.
It is also significant that Rove put J. Timothy Gratz in touch with Anthony Ulasewicz. We now know that Ulasewicz, was in charge of Operation Sandwedge. This was a highly secret operation that has never been fully revealed. In fact, as Ulasewicz points out in his autobiography, The President's Private Eye, the Senate Committee looking into the Watergate Scandal, avoided all questions on Sandwedge.

TERM LIMITS FOR CONGRESS

WHY IT’S TIME FOR TERM LIMITS
FOR CONGRESS

Imagine, if you will, a presidency that went on for ever.
Imagine Jimmy Carter still in office.
Imagine 16 MORE years of failed policies by George Bush.
Imagine one scandal after another still going on in the Whitehouse under Bill Clinton.

Just because someone is “electable” doesn’t mean that they are effective, competent and “working” in DC for our best interests.

It’s been too long that people in Congress have gone to Washington with the promise of “CHANGE” and the mission to “SERVE”.
Tragically, they get assimilated into the culture of greed, power, and the untouchable superstar syndrome. They lose all perspective as to what “ A BILLION DOLLARS” means. They lose all perspective for what the average Joe or hardworking farmers have to do to eek out a living.

I knew who Chris Dodd was when I attended the University of Connecticut in 1965-75. Chris is the son of Sen. Tom Dodd, who was the only Senator to be sanctioned in the 20th century.
Back in 1967 Knobby Walsh’s son, who was the owner of “Bidwell’s Tavern” in Coventry, CT, ran for a state representative seat in CT.
Tom Dodd’s cronies tried to buy him off so that his son, Chris (who had barely finished college) could get the seat.
Chris Dodd has never worked a real job in 41 years.

Al Gore has the same resume as does Mayor Daley in Chicago, whose father was instrumental in the violence at the 68 Chicago Convention when he was mayor.
Barney Frank’s (D) Mass roommate, “Spouse” ( his words) as he called him was the “guru” for formulating loans at Fannie Mae. He quit and opened up a pottery shop. He then left Frank. Another career DC insider.

Term limits for Representatives and Senators would insure that the “Public Servants” who are elected to congress and then stop caring to remember that they cared...once. get out of town before they get into your wallet.

Sen. Judd Gregg was a do nothing congressman in New Hampshire when I lived there. He bought into the system and ran for Governor and is now a Senator. He is another “career politician” that never worked a day in his life; but is living the high life in DC.

It always seems to be the usual suspects.
A national referendum is needed to change how things are done in Washington.

SHIP OF FOOLS??

Imagine taking a cruise. This cruise was to be a 4 year trip. On board are about 300 million people. There was a lot of hype and publicity about this cruise. People were extremely excited, and in some cases, even fainting over the possibility of such a great adventure.
You attempted your due diligence and uncovered a number of facts about the cruise that gave you pause about jumping on board. You found out the ship was in a shabby and unsafe condition. The infrastructure was falling apart, there were leaks everywhere. They found millions of stowaways and rats hiding throughout the ship. They had been eating away at the wiring, the insulation, the medical supplies and the food supply.
The rudder to steer the ship had been bent and twisted by the last captain because he was asleep at the helm while the first mate diddled with outside concerns; lining his pockets with the treasures stolen from the last passengers. Things were not shaping up well for this cruise.
The purser was chosen. Before he was brought on board it was discovered that he was stealing from the treasury for years; but the captain hired him anyway. The passengers were concerned about how their money would be handled during the cruise; but they had all drank a special either-spiked kool aid before the cruise and were still in an ethereal state as the ship was ready to embark.
Somehow the Purser and Health officer got away without paying any penalties for their “CRIMES” when others had gone to prison including a guy named Al Capone for the very same offense.
All the passengers held their breath (and their noses) as the captain ordered the crew to cast off.
All the passengers were hoping and praying for a safe cruise but had realized that they had forfeited their values for the sake of “Change they could believe in”
As the ship drew away from the shore and the sight of land dwindled in the mist, the ship was still leaking badly, the stowaways were still ravaging the supplies and the crew was still on the promenade congratulating each other on still being employed.

When the Roman Senate lamented the election of Caligula as Emperor,
(He created one of the most twisted and brutal regimes that the Empire had ever witnessed)

He said to them “You voted for me, therefore, you deserve me”
